La Costa degli Dei
The Costa degli Dei, or Coast of the Gods, is a stretch of coastline which runs for 55 km along the southern Tyrrhenian Sea. It includes all the beaches of the province of Vibo Valentia which flank the stretch of Calabria nicknamed “il corno”, or the horn.
At Parghelia there are three breathtaking beaches, namely Michelino, Vardano, and La Grazia, with dazzling white sands, cliffs and private coves. In the Pizzuta area, where our resort is located, visitors can admire the well-known Faraglione del Palombaro, a stack with granite pinnacles jutting out of the sea.
At Zambrone visitors will enjoy the long stretch of white sandy beach, surrounded by the green hills on the one side, and the crystal-clear sea on the other. It is recommended for families with small children.
Tropea is the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the best-known town in Calabria. Its beaches leave visitors truly speechless: we recommend the Rotonda beach (set between two cliffs), “a ’linguata” (the largest, ideal for diving enthusiasts), Convento (thus called owing to the convent there), Passo Cavalieri (recommended for diving), l’Occhiale and il Cannone.
Capo Vaticano enjoys a stunning view of the Aeolian Islands, and is located in front of the volcano of Stromboli. Its beaches are charming and can be reached along paths carved into the rock, or along trails set amidst the natural landscape. Its sea bed is both rocky and sandy, and the flora is varied: fans of diving are sure to enjoy it.
For young people, Baia di Riaci (at S. Domenica di Ricadi) is the place to head for, thanks to its stunning sea beds, the numerous beach establishments, beach services and the sea-front night club.
The three bays at Grotticelle afford wonderful views and picture-postcard scenery. They can be reached from the sea, or along small paths. It is well worth visiting them, not least to admire the stack at Capo Vaticano jutting out of the sea.

National parks, reserves and nature oases in Calabria
Calabria boasts a variegated landscape dense with truly stunning mountains, hills, forests, valleys and canyons. No less than three parks have been created, set behind the area’s coastlines, thereby making them easier to reach:

The Pollino National Park
There is also the Bacino dell’Angitola, a WWF oasis site since 1987. This artificial lake located in the province of Vibo Valentia is situated along the route taken by migrating birds. Much of the oasis is surrounded by pine forests, olive groves and typical Mediterranean plants.
In addition, there is a vast number of regional and national nature reserves. These places of unrivalled beauty are home to special forms of wildlife and lush plant life. The morphology and geological features of the area are dazzling, ensuring these reserves are breathtaking.
